The IndyBar Breakfast with the Bar: Family Law event on Sept. 24 was a great success! It was very exciting being able to host our first in-person Breakfast with the Bar in quite some time, and the turnout was everything we hoped for and more. We were able to have some great discussions with some fantastic local attorneys.

Emily Angel from Kids' Voice of Indiana gave us some valuable insight on what it was like being involved with advocacy in family law. She was able to tell us about what a career in advocating for children is like and even recommended some great volunteer opportunities. Sarah Baker from Cohen Garelick & Glazier shared what it was like doing family law for a mid-sized firm. We enjoyed being able to learn about what the practice looks like in a firm setting as opposed to private practice. Danielle Gregory and Ranissa Dycus was were able to give us great perspective from the other side as both of them have their own private practice. Danielle shared fantastic advice on how to have a private family law practice and still maintain work-life balance. Ranissa was able to give us insight on what a having a private criminal practice was like and how that could overlap with family law at times.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success and we look forward to seeing you at the next Breakfast with the Bar where we will be discussing careers in estate planning!
