The City of Indianapolis has worked over the past year to update its Infill Housing Guidelines, which serve as a design guide for new home construction in existing neighborhoods.  The previous version had not been updated since 1993.

The guidelines, like the Pattern Book, and other documents updated by the City in recent years are utilized in coordination with the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan for policy makers and boards to utilize as guidance in land use decisions.  Members who assist or engage in in-fill development are encouraged to review and make public comments on the draft.  The final version of the guidelines will be considered for adoption by the Metropolitan Development Commission later this year.
