About the Speaker: Meet John L. Krauss

John L. Krauss of the Indiana Public Policy Institute will be the featured speaker at the upcoming "You are More than a Mediator. You are an ADR Specialist" CLE and CME program on May 7 from noon to 1 p.m. at the IndyBar Education Center.

During the program, Kruass will address the value of making an initial assesment in an alternative dispute resolution situation and  when you should use the tool or tools in your ADR tool box.

Krauss is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator. He has a multi-faceted career over the past 40+ years’ experience with public and private sectors. It includes strategic planning, intergovernmental relations and conflict resolution. From the American Bar Association to the National League of Cities, from the National Futures Association to the New York Stock Exchange, from governors to attorneys general, from commercial enterprises to leading foundations, from local to state to federal officials, whether the job demands mediation, arbitration, facilitation or training, He has delivered decades of on-the-job intergovernmental and teaching experience, a keen sense of diplomacy, an ability to hear and understand all sides and an ability to help opposing parties understand one another.

What sets Krauss apart is a rare insider’s perspective. He is not only an attorney, but also a former deputy mayor of a major city, the head of a university-based public policy think tank, the director of a state intergovernmental advisory commission, and a veteran of local government reform in nations around the world on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
