This Week’s Tips feature nuts-and-bolts type information (hint: you may want to share with your assistant):

  1. If your Motion is unopposed, say so! Include the word Unopposed right in the title of your motion: “Unopposed Motion to Continue,” for example. Remember that every motion must include the other side’s position on the relief requested, not just motions to continue.
  2. At mycase.in.gov, “Certified Mail Returned” = bad service. Lots of folks are doing a quick check and assuming that all is well, so read the CCS entry carefully. The most common entry for good service is “Service Returned Served,” although this is generally only used for the service of summons.
  3. To dispel the rumor: No, Marion County is not accepting an online class in lieu of Children Cope with Divorce.  Uptoparents.org is recommended prior to attending CCw/D, but it is not a substitute.

Stay tuned for a new tip next week!
