Some of the most valuable tips and resources come not from a scholarly journal or a classroom—they come from a productive discussion with colleagues.
With the launch of IndyBar Listservs for sections and divisions, that discussion is now just an email away! This is a great way to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience and participate in an ongoing conversation.
What’s a Listserv?
A listserv is a mailing list server. When an email is addressed to a listserv mailing list, it is automatically broadcast to everyone on the list. The result is similar to a newsgroup or forum, except that the messages are transmitted as email and are therefore available only to individuals on the list.
How do I get on an IndyBar Listserv?
IndyBar Listservs are available as a benefit of section and division membership. If you belong to a section or division, you are automatically subscribed to that group’s Listserv—but you can unsubscribe at any time.

What if I don’t want to get lots of emails?
You can easily customize your settings for IndyBar Listservs by visiting indybar.org/myprofile. You can choose from a variety of settings, including a vacation mode, which halts all messages for a defined period of time, and a digest mode, that will compile all of a day’s messages into one email. You can also view and search all past messages on your list(s).
