Tell us about your legal career and passion in the legal field.
My legal career has been a bit unconventional. I started out as a biology major because my parents really wanted me to be a doctor, but I always loved writing, which helped me realize that medicine wasn't the right path for me.

When I began thinking about law, I was incredibly fortunate to have great mentors - first in college, then in law school - who helped me see that this was where I belonged. Law school felt like finding my people, and I thrived with the encouragement of professors, who pushed me toward clerkships and new opportunities.

Mentorship has continued to shape my career, especially through my clerkship with my judge, who has been an incredible mentor to me, as well as the other colleagues I've met through the courts, bar association, and my firm. What I love most about the law is the opportunity to combine writing, strategy, and advocacy to solve complex problems every day.

What is your involvement with IndyBar?
I got involved with IndyBar shortly after law school, and it quickly became an important part of my professional life. One of my first points of involvement was the Women and the Law Division, including participating in its coloring book project, which was such a creative and meaningful way to connect with the community.

After that, I became more involved with the Division and later joined the Well-Being Committee. Through IndyBar, I've had the opportunity to work alongside incredible colleagues, build lasting friendships, and participate in initiatives focused on strengthening our profession. It's been rewarding to be part of a community that genuinely supports one another.

What is something you're recently proud of?
I'm really proud of completing my first year at my firm and the experiences that came with it. I had the opportunity to take part in my first trial, mediations, and depositions, and to really start learning how things work in practice - especially coming from a clerkship background. Moving up in the associate ranks and starting to figure things out has been both challenging and rewarding. Most of all, I've genuinely enjoyed the people I work with and feel grateful to have had such a positive and supportive experience.

What are you involved with outside of your legal practice?
Outside of my day-to-day practice, mentoring has been especially meaningful to me. Having benefited so much from mentors at every stage of my career, I enjoy supporting students and younger folks whenever I can. Whether through formal programs or informal conversations, I value the opportunity to help others find their footing.

How do you like to unwind and relax?
When I have time to unwind, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and good food. With a busy schedule, I try to take Pilates classes when I can. I enjoy baking and creative outlets, including small home renovation projects or knitting, which I find relaxing.
