On Thursday, March 27th, the IndyBar Law Student Division hosted Breakfast with the Bar: Tax Law at IU McKinney’s law library. The event gave students the chance to connect with attorneys practicing in a variety of tax-related fields including litigation, compliance, corporate taxation, and advisory services.

Panelists included Marc Caito and Amanda Gillen (KPMG LLP), Delainey Deitch (PwC), Ron Morelock and Robert Rowlett (Scopelitis Garvin Light Hanson & Feary PC), Caitlyn Morrison (Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC), Nate Meyers (KSM Consulting), Chris Clerc (BMV), and Chris Russell and Kelly Kelly (Indiana Department of Revenue).

Attendees heard practical insights on careers in tax law from professionals across firms, government entities, and the private sector. Students were encouraged to explore the field’s wide reach and consider the different paths available post-graduation. The panel also made space for informal conversations, giving students a chance to ask questions and get honest advice about the practice.

Thank you to all of our participating attorneys, and to the IndyBar Law Student Division for organizing another valuable program to the Indianapolis legal community.

The Law Student Division’s next Breakfast with the Bar will be held on Thursday, April 10th and will focus on Commercial & Bankruptcy Law. Students will have the opportunity to hear from attorneys about career paths in this complex and evolving field. Registration is open now: April 10 Event Registration.
