When the world came to a pause in March 2020, IndyBar began to rethink how we can provide direct legal advice to the public and in turn, we launched the Virtual Ask a Lawyer program. We are proud to share the program surpassed the 20,000 questions answered mark this April. Virtual Ask a Lawyer and our referral service, Indy Lawyer Finder, have helped thousands of Hoosiers get the advice and direction needed to move forward with their legal case. Led by the Pro Bono Committee, IndyBar continues to strive towards providing accessible and quality legal services to our Indianapolis community through our numerous pro bono programs and public outreach initiatives.

IndyBar attorney members staff Ask a Lawyer’s Virtual Help Desk Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week for time slots of one hour (or more). The program provides attorneys an excellent opportunity to accumulate pro bono hours while rendering legal advice remotely from a location of your choosing. If members are unavailable during the Virtual Help Desk's operational hours, there are still opportunities to answer questions after hours that previously went unanswered. If you are interested in volunteering for the Ask a Lawyer program or looking to get involved in other areas of pro bono work, head to indybar.org/volunteer to learn more!
