An eviction is often the first step on the path to homelessness for vulnerable Indianapolis residents, but a new program by Indiana Legal Services seeks to decrease this likelihood by providing legal representation to those facing eviction. This innovative project has been named the recipient of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation's 2018 Anniversary Impact Fund Grant of $50,000.

To date, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation has awarded over $228,000 in academic and educational scholarships to deserving law students.

For 50 years, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF) has worked to ensure equal access to justice for all Indianapolis-area residents. In recognition of this milestone, the foundation will increase its annual Impact Fund Grant to $50,000 in order to fund a project or program that facilitates this mission and reflects the foundation's goals.

Now, more lawyers are retiring than entering practice, technology has impacted the way we deliver legal services, law has become more specialized and there is an increasing demand from clients for non-traditional pricing and access to services. These changes have led to our members asking for more from the Indianapolis Bar Association, including assistance with developing and managing a law practice, more continuing education and even space that allows them to meet with clients and collaborate with other professionals. The association has heard these requests, and the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF) is the fundraising arm that stands ready to deliver them.

Kids' Voice of Indiana, the recipient of the 2017 $35,000 Impact Fund Grant, has announced dates and locations for the Community Mobile Law Program. The free legal clinics aim to provide legal advice in muliple areas of law and family safety plannning information.
