Bar Leader Series

The Bar Leader Series

The IndyBar's Bar Leader Series develops lawyers for future opportunities in leadership roles in the business and legal communities. Through the Bar Leader Series, participants will learn what it means to be a leader, gain insight vital to leaders in our community and learn how to communicate, motivate, inspire and succeed not only in your law career but also in service to professional, political, judicial, civic and community organizations.

Why should I consider applying?
You will benefit personally and professionally and will be better prepared for leadership opportunities and challenges. You will have a chance to meet and interact with prominent legal and community leaders, develop leadership skills, explore long-term opportunities for leadership and form a lifelong network.

How does it work?
The series begins with a two-day retreat in September. Subsequent sessions are held at the Indianapolis Bar Association Education Center or other Indianapolis venues from noon until 4 p.m. or 1 to 5 p.m., based on the session, October through May, and include lunch. Each session includes two to three hours of substantive presentations by local leaders, most earning CLE credit, and leadership development curriculum.

The program includes all leadership sessions plus the development and execution of a community service team project, which will be completed during the series. All students will be expected to attend one IndyBar Board of Directors meeting during the series.
