Though a European regulation, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the collection and use of personal data of Europeans all around the world. Even if a business doesn’t have a physical presence in Europe, the regulation could still significantly impact them. Many U.S. businesses have not yet realized the major impact GDPR will have on the way they market and sell to their customers.

This presentation includes an overview of GDPR and general cybersecurity, GDPR due diligence in merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions, how law firms have been targeted by data thieves for M&A and transactional information, recent case law and some best practices.
