Continuing Legal Education

Opening and closing statements are some of the most crucial, if not THE most crucial, components of trial. It's your chance to present the best first impression and to leave the jury with something to remember. This panel discussion includes a Marion Superior Court judge as well as practicing attorneys who talk about what is permitted, effective and expected in opening and closing statements. We then compare and contrast statements in a bench trial versus a jury trial and provide anecdotes of effective and not-so-effective statements.
