Federal jurisdiction can be a complex issue in any case, but when an appeal is taken to the Seventh Circuit, every case’s jurisdictional questions get new scrutiny. Improper handling of jurisdictional issues on appeal can even get you sanctioned or in other ethics trouble. This seminar will review the ins-and-outs of the appellate jurisdiction of the federal courts as well as how you can craft the “Jurisdictional Statement” in your brief to comply with the Seventh Circuit’s strict rules. Seminars on this topic don't come around very often, so don't miss your chance to learn how to navigate these tricky waters!
