Get to know the winners of the 2019 YLD Cornhole Tournament!

Mike Etienne
Mike was born and raised in Avon, Indiana. He attended Purdue University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. Although Mike is proud to call himself an alumnus of Indiana University Maurer School of Law, he is still a Boilermaker at heart! That’s in part because Mike uses his Purdue engineering degree each day in the practice of patent law. Mike is an associate in Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP's intellectual property practice group, where he prepares patents and trademarks for a variety of local and national clients. Prior to joining Taft, Mike worked as a field engineer for Baker Hughes Oil and Gas in Texas and California.
Upon returning to Indiana, in law school, Mike met his fiancé, Kelsie Breit. Mike and Kelsie love living and working in downtown Indianapolis. They are avid Colts fans and enjoying spending time with friends and family on Mass Ave. experiencing Indy’s wonderful restaurants, bars and live music. In his free time, Mike enjoys playing pick-up basketball, golf and of course cornhole. Mike has reconnected with classmates and made new acquaintances through the YLD and the IndyBar. He looks forward to the next event and encourages everyone to come to enjoy the competition and the comradery.
Kendall Griffin
Kendall was raised in Avon, Indiana and graduated from Avon High School in 2011. He attended Wright State University, where he played basketball and majored in biomedical engineering. After graduating from WSU in 2015, he attended the IU McKinney School of Law. Putting both degrees to good use, Kendall now focuses his law practice on IP litigation. Kendall is an associate at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP and enjoys working hard for clients to protect and defend their intellectual property rights.
Kendall met and married his wife, Jovi, while in law school and they have a one and a half-year-old son, Augustine (“Gus”), together. Kendall enjoys playing “ball” with his son, watching his sisters coach volleyball at Brownsburg High School, watching his brother play football at Princeton and picking up new hobbies like salsa dancing and tennis with his wife. He dreams of the day when he can coach his kids in all sports and teach them to throw a cornhole bag as softly as Mike.
