Steve Henke is an attorney at Hackman Hulett LLP’s Indianapolis office, and he loves the diverse client interactions he gets there, from in-house counsel of large companies to legally unsophisticated clients blindsided by a civil lawsuit. His favorite work involves collaborating with other lawyers to solve the dispute fairly—but enjoys finding the perfect case to win summary judgment too.
Steve hails from the west side of Indianapolis, where he attended Covenant Christian High School. He graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, and then Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington.
Today, he lives downtown and volunteers as a Director of the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men, the New Member Liaison at the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, and an intake volunteer at the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic. He particularly recommends the latter for attorneys with research-heavy day jobs (o los que hablan pocito español).
Steve’s favorite part about the Young Lawyer Division is the social events. As a law student, Steve enjoyed the city-wide Scavenger Hunt twice. As part of the Social Committee in 2018, he helped organize the largest bar association cornhole tournament in state history and demonstrated his total lack of cornhole talent. This year, he’s enjoying the inner workings of the Indianapolis Bar Association, and looking forward to getting another shot at the cornhole championship.
