Each quarter the YLD recognizes a member or group of members who has gone above and beyond in his or her commitment to the YLD. The Member Spotlight for the third quarter of 2017 goes to Chris Mueller and Max Simpkins. Chris and Matt organized the annual YLD Cornhole Tournament which took place this year at B’s Po-Boy in Fountain Square. The tournament was well-attended and enjoyed by all. See below for more information about Chris and Max and their dedication to the YLD.
Chris Mueller, Associate at Alerding Castor Hewitt LLP
Chris grew up in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, but became a Hoosier after marrying his college sweetheart and following her to the Indianapolis area. He graduated from Valparaiso University (2010, magna cum laude) and from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (2015, cum laude). After interning with Indiana Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa and clerking with a prominent plaintiff’s litigation firm in Indianapolis for 2.5 years, Chris joined Alerding Castor Hewitt LLP. Chris focuses his practice on complex estate, trust, and business litigation, estate planning, and business planning, but provides a wide array of civil litigation and small business representation services. In his free time, Chris and his wife enjoy outdoor activities with their son, Charlie, their dog, Holly, and spending time with family.
Chris became involved in IndyBar during law school, attending social functions and educational events as time allowed, but now also serves as a member of the YLD Social Committee. Recently, he and Max Simpkins organized the YLD’s annual Cornhole Tournament, and Chris attends as many IndyBar events as he can. Chris looks forward to continued involvement in YLD and the IndyBar at large.
