Ron Gilbert was born and raised here in Indianapolis, Indiana. A born Hoosier, he attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Ron moved back to Indianapolis in 2014 and briefly worked for The Finish Line in their legal department before attending Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. There, Ron was awarded the Outstanding Student Leader Award for his service to the law school, including serving as President of the Student Bar Association and Chief Justice of the Moot Court Society.
Ron is an attorney at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in the litigation department. Prior to joining the firm, Ron gained valuable experience at a boutique litigation firm, where he defended a large corporate client in federal courts across the country. Ron has been a member of IndyBar since 2015 and worked at the front desk as a first-year law student. IndyBar has been a resource to him and countless others since day one of law school. IndyBar was literally at orientation! Ron plans to always have a hand in IndyBar happenings and is looking forward to his tenure on the YLD Executive Committee.
In his free time, Ron enjoys mentoring, playing violin, teaching spin classes and spending time with his wife, Diamond.
