The IndyBar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) has awarded this year’s IndyBar Young Lawyers Division Distinguished Leadership Award to a much-deserved candidate, Stephanie McGowan. Stephanie has served as chair of the YLD for two consecutive years and has given countless hours of time and support to the Indianapolis legal community through her leadership. In addition to her time as chair, Stephanie has been a member on the YLD Executive Board for several years, including serving as education chair for multiple years. During her time with the YLD, Stephanie has helped establish many new programs and events for young lawyers. She truly cares for the members of the Indianapolis legal community and IndyBar and is constantly searching for ways to engage our community and encourage young lawyers to get involved.

As if being chair of the YLD was not a full-time job, Stephanie still finds time for her real job as a Managing Associate at Frost Brown Todd LLC. There, she practices labor and employment law. Stephanie represents municipalities, counties, pubic entities, law enforcement agencies and school corporations in employment-related matters, including employment litigation, arbitrations and general employment counseling and in a variety of state and federal constitutional challenges. When not working and serving as YLD chair, Stephanie also gives back to her community by serving on the Strategic Planning Committee and Advisory Committee of Beyond Monumental to help plan some of Indianapolis’ half-marathons and marathons. In her free time, Stephanie can be found training for a marathon, on the soccer field playing intramural soccer, or enjoying time with her golden retriever, Iris.

The YLD thanks Stephanie for her constant support and service and knows that her shoes will be very hard to fill. The Indianapolis legal community is lucky to have leaders like Stephanie!
