Well, hello there! My name is Tarah M.C. Baldwin. I am a wife, mother of two small children and a partner with Baldwin Maples & Williams LLC in Indianapolis. I represent clients in the areas of estate litigation, guardianships, contested adoption, personal injury and criminal defense for adults and juveniles. I started my career as a public defender in Marion County after interning for the agency throughout law school. That experience created a passion for trial advocacy and a desire to be of service to others that is now the foundation of my practice and business. In May of 2020, I will have practiced law in Indiana for five years.
When I am not in the office, I am with my family. We spend a lot of time cooking, playing outside, gardening and building blanket forts. I volunteer with Kids’ Voice of Indiana with the Mobile Law Clinic and the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic. This year, I am one of 25 attorneys participating in the Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership Development Academy. I am also serving on the board for the Young Lawyers Division of the IndyBar after working last year on the YLD's education subcommittee. An alleged fun fact about me is that I bought a vintage accordion, and I am clumsily trying to teach myself how to play.
I encourage law students and young lawyers to get involved with the Young Lawyers Division. It is a great way to meet other lawyers, to get relevant CLEs and to have a lot of fun building your practice. We have a lot of great events planned this year. If you would like to know more about YLD or how to get involved, feel free to contact me at Tarah@bmw.law.
If you would like to submit content or write an article for the Young Lawyers Division, please email Kara Sikorski at firstname.lastname@example.org.
