‘Tis the season to clean out your closet! From IndyBar’s Law Student Division and Young Lawyers Division, it’s once again time to help get central Indiana college-bound students “Suited Up” for success. The Suited Up program is aimed at providing college-bound high school students (men and women), from low-income households, with dress clothes.  We are partnering with a mentoring organization called Starfish Initiative to locate these college-bound high school students.

All clothing will be donated by our very own IndyBar members. We need all sizes of suits, dress shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, shoes, ties, and whatever else you think a young person might need to look the part of an aspiring young professional.  From December 12, 2016, through January 27, 2017, we’ll be collecting donations at the following locations:

Once the clothing drive is finished, we’ll move on to organizing the items and distributing them to the students. Lewis Wagner LLP has kindly offered their space for storage of all donated dress clothes once the drive is finished. We are partnering with Men’s Wearhouse for tailoring services and with Classic Cleaners for dry cleaning services. Hogan Transfer & Storage Corp. has provided the collection boxes.

The program will conclude in late April 2017 with an event for the students and their families where we will give them their suits and also provide a session on interview and professionalism tips. We hope to make Suited Up bigger and better this year.

So, what are you waiting for?  Dig through your closets and get to donating!
