Twenty years from now, what will you wish you had known as a new associate? One attorney took that question and compiled this list: 17 Things I Wish I Knew as a New Associate. While law school teaches you many things, there are some lessons that can only be learned once you're on the job. That's where this list helps out.

From advice such as "learn how to use a calendar" to "take vacations", checking out these pointers now may save you some hard-learned lessons down the road. It may even mean that in 20 years, you're looking back with a much shorter list than the author's.
