Melanne Verveer, the first U.S. ambassador-at-large for Global Women's Issues, claims that women in the legal industry are not just interested in their own advancement - they want to pay their experiences forward in order to help other women, too.

Verveer talks in this article about the notion of "sharing the power", and how the larger push for increased diversity in the work force can play a role in women's advancement.

Verveer says, "The bottom line is that today there is a growing focus on the benefits of diversity. I think women legal professionals who are aspiring to corporate counsel positions can ride this wave."
