Each year, the Women & the Law Division solicits nomination for its Mentor Award, seeking to honor a female legal professional who's exhibited exceptional efforts to be a mentor to other women in the profession. This year, the division has selected Tracy Betz of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP as the honorable recipient.

Betz has been practicing for 13 years and currently co-chairs the firm’s Gender Advancement Committee. She also serves in a leadership role for numerous local organizations, including Women4Change Indiana, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana and Child Advocates of Marion County. She is passionate about giving back to the community and using her position to help shape the future of the legal profession and the development of women in legal and business careers.

Her nominator, Brad Schwer, states, "Tracy serves as a mentor to associates, helping them manage projects and time, adapt to the lifestyle of being an associate, and introducing them within the firm and the practice. She is also an active part of our associate recruiting process, working closely with our director of legal personnel conducting on-campus interviews and in-house interviews of candidates. She is frequently asked by partners to speak to Taft’s associates regarding litigation, community service, and business development. Because Tracy’s positive attitude and sense of team building are contagious, she is a very effective role model for all of our attorneys."

Congratulations, Tracy! Honor her and other outstanding female legal professionals at the WLD Mentoring Program Kick-Off Luncheon on March 6. Register here!
