Women and the Law News

Posted on: Mar 23, 2017

The WLD has had a busy start to 2017 and we are looking forward to another year of enriching and fun activities for our members. We kicked off our annual mentoring program in February and awarded the WLD’s inaugural Mentorship Award to Kristin McClellan.

We’ve been planning several CLEs; are continuing our popular quarterly roundtable talks with notable women in our community; and have lined up volunteer opportunities with Girls, Inc. and Dress for Success. The annual Summer Reception will be held in a fresh new location this year at the Propylaeum and will feature remarks from Professor Fran Watson with the IU McKinney School of Law.

And we’re particularly excited to launch the WLD Book Club to offer our members a chance to meet, snack, chat, and discuss our thoughts on the first book club selection of “168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think” – a timely topic for us in light of everything the division has been planning!

We couldn’t do any of these things without the incredible enthusiasm of our membership. If you have ideas about events you’d like to see, or feedback about existing events or programs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to an Executive Committee member. We hope to see you soon.
