The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) was nationally recognized today for having “the best sales tax practices amongst all states” by the Council of State Taxation (COST). Indiana DOR received an A- on COST’s grading scale.
COST serves as a non-profit trade association based in Washington, D.C. consisting of approximately 550 multistate corporations engaged in interstate and international business. 2018 was the first year COST conducted a sales and use tax only analysis amongst states with the goal of improving tax administrative systems and therefore ultimately increase compliance.
