Get to know members of the Sports & Entertainment Law Section! This blog series highlights section members, their practice and their personal interests. Take a seat and get to know them! This week's post features Katie Collyer of Church Church Hittle + Antrim.

Name, firm and position at firm?
Katie Collyer; Associate at Church Church Hittle + Antrim

What is the focus of your practice?
I split my time between sports law, where I represent collegiate institutions, coaches and athletics directors in NCAA infractions cases and general litigation.

What is your specialty area?
Our sports law practice focuses on representation in NCAA infractions cases and providing proactive education to coaches and athletic departments. My litigation practice is wide-ranging – everything from municipal litigation to insurance defense to business litigation (so really no specialty here).

How long have you been practicing?
A little over two years.

What was the highlight of your practice in 2018?
2018 was a highlight year in general for our sports law practice group. As we continue to grow, I feel so incredibly lucky to work with and learn from the other members of our team.

What is your favorite sport and sports team/player?
My favorite teams are anything and everything Ohio State Buckeyes! Growing up in Indiana though, I’d have to say my all-time favorite athlete is Peyton Manning.

What is your favorite song and musical artist/band?
My favorite band is Zac Brown Band. I’ve seen them in concert four times!

If you would like to be featured in the Q+A series, send your responses to the above questions to Kara Sikorski at and stay tuned for future installments!
