Solo Small Firm Practice News

Tis the season to by jolly, but for a lot of solo and small firm folk, ‘tis the season to clean up the year and try to make plans for the next. I know I was not trained as a small business owner and, for me, addressing clients who go into the red, and figuring out how to collect on those ARs I’ve let slip has always been a challenge. I know I’m not alone. Recently, The Lawyerist published a blog post entitled "Find the Money, How to Collect Old ARs and Avoid New." The article gives tips (some of which we all already know but sometimes need to be reminded of) and also provides a free download of what they call an “A/R Handbook.” The handbook has a proposed procedure for calls and letters as well as a sample letter to start the process. Starting now can help us all make 2017 an even better year for our practices!
