The Marion County Land Use Plan, part of the Plan 2020 project, is now in its final stages of public comment before being introduced to the Metropolitan Development Commission for consideration and adoption yet this year. The public comment period started on September 17 and goes through October 21. The Land Use Plan is an update to the comprehensive plan for Marion County and covers all areas of the county not covered by a subarea plan  The Land Use Plan was updated on a township by township basis with each township having a Citizen Advisory Committee which reviewed the plan and made suggestions and recommendations to the plan’s contents.

Public comment can be submitted online here.

There will also be an Exhibition on City Planning held on Friday, October 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Harrison Center (1505 N Delaware St). Public comment can be provided there as well.

The Land Use Plan updates will be considered on an individual basis by the Metropolitan Development Commission on a to be determined date following the close of public comment.
