On June 17, 2015, the Metropolitan Development Commission gave a favorable recommendation to the Indianapolis City-County Council for the “Rezone Indy” comprehensive update of the Indianapolis/Marion County Zoning Ordinance. This ordinance now moves to the City-County Council for consideration, with an introduction scheduled for the July meeting of the Council.
Several members of the IndyBar’s Real Estate and Land Use Section Executive Committee have been active participants in the steering committee and various subcommittees engaged by the Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD). Thank you to those members for taking an active part in this important effort.
The introduced version of the ordinance can be found on DMD’s website here. Upon passage, the Real Estate and Land Use Section hopes to partner with DMD and others to provide a comprehensive overview of the ordinance’s impact on development and permitting in Indianapolis/Marion County. Please stay tuned for further updates!
