Real Estate and Land Use News

It’s hard to believe that the first quarter of 2015 is already behind us! The Real Estate and Land Use Section Executive Committee has started the year by arranging CLEs for our membership and working with other sections of the IndyBar to provide relevant content for practitioners of all skill levels. There are some informative programs in the works and we’ll be excited to roll them out in the second and third quarters of the year.

The executive committee has also initiated quarterly meetings with senior staff at the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development to discuss current topics that impact land use practitioners in Marion County. The first meeting in March was a good exchange of information.
It looks like 2015 may include some significant changes to the Indianapolis/Marion County zoning ordinance through the completion of the Indy Rezone project via introduction to the Indianapolis City County Council. If the new ordinance is adopted, the Real Estate and Land Use Section will work closely with members to provide information about the impact of these changes.

As always, if you have suggestions for CLE content, please feel free to contact any member of the executive committee! Thank you for your membership in the Real Estate and Land Use Section.
