Kay Stawick has worked as a paralegal for 25 years, working primarily in the area of large-asset family law cases. She also has experience in civil defense and corporate litigation. While Key loves what she does, her dream-world would include living in a small flat in Paris where she could stroll the Champs Elysees on her way to and from culinary school.
Kay is a Member-at-Large for the IndyBar Paralegal Executive Committee and, in addition to wearing the title of paralegal, Kay is also known as “Mom”, “GeGe” and “Madame Secretary” (of the IndyBar Paralegal Committee). Kay is also a member of the Indiana Paralegal Association and the National Association of Paralegal Associations.
In her free time, Kay enjoys hiking the Tecumseh Trail at Yellowwood State Forest in Brown County, Indiana; is a gourmet cook (specializing in Italian and French dishes for her family and friends); and loves her weekly dance parties with her 6-year-old granddaughter (perhaps we should add “Dancing Queen” to her list of titles).
As it does not appear that Kay’s dream of living in Paris will happen any time soon, she settles for the hustle of working downtown Indianapolis with visits to bistros in Paris whenever she gets the chance. According to Julia Child, “in France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sport.” Kay’s culinary skills may not have reached the national sport level (we are in the USA after all where baseball is the national sport and there is only so much one can do with a hotdog and apple pie), but from what I have seen, she definitely has the art form in cooking down pat. I am looking forward to the day she asks for a guinea pig when she wants to add something new to her repertoire!
