On June 14, 2017, the IndyBar Paralegal Committee held its annual Meeting of Members, although “meeting” makes it sound a lot more agenda-esque (I know it’s not a word, but it should be) than it was. It was really more of a “meet and greet” over lunch so we could get to know one another. Sure, we talked about all of the great things the Paralegal Committee had in the works (possibly volunteering at a food bank or Ronald McDonald House, upcoming CLEs, and our wonderful holiday luncheon where we present stuffed animals to local first responders for their use when there are children involved). We introduced ourselves, talked about our jobs, laughed and joked, and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch hour. Enjoying the lunch hour is a bit unusual for me as I often find myself eating at my desk trying to beat a deadline!
There were new faces and old faces (and by that I meant experienced faces, that’s what I meant, experienced faces…) Some of the experienced faces belonged to members of the Executive Committee who talked about how being involved with the IndyBar Paralegal Committee has benefited them or how they first became involved with the Committee. All-in-all it was a great event.
If you missed the meeting, don’t wait for next year’s! Feel free to join us at one of the monthly meetings – the door is always open. For more information, please feel free to reach out to the Chair, Arlene Morris, at email@example.com, Vice-Chair, Laura Thirion at firstname.lastname@example.org or any of the members of the Executive Committee. The complete list may be found on the paralegal page of the IndyBar website here. We would love to have you join us!
