On December 3, 2015, the Indianapolis Bar Association Paralegal Committee held their annual holiday luncheon at The Conrad Hotel in conjunction with their longstanding “Bears on Patrol” program.
This is an outstanding program which collects lovable stuffed animals to be given to children by our amazing first responders during frightening and challenging events. There were an enormous number of cuddly stuffed animals collected this year: a total of 3,506 were donated through everyone’s gracious caring and generosity.
Frost Brown Todd LLC was recognized for collecting the most bears at 1,351, as was Whitham Hebenstreit & Zubek LLP for donating 42, the most per employee. They have nine employees averaging 4.6 bears per employee. Cheryl Keene of Cohen & Malad LLP was also recognized for her numerous hand-crocheted adorable animals for this very worthwhile cause.
A generous thank you goes out to all of the firms and individuals who participated in this meaningful cause! A special thank you goes out to the Criminal Justice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association for their contribution to this year’s event.
The agency representatives that were in attendance to accept these lovable stuffed animals were Chief Deputy Eva Talley-Sanders and Public Information Officer Katie Carlson, Captain Rita Reith, Assistant Chief Tim Baughman from the Indianapolis Fire Department, Sargent Kendall Adams from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Carl Rochelle III from Indianapolis EMS.
