Thanks to the help of Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, the IndyBar Legislative Committee is currently monitoring select litigation-related legislation, and you can view the report here. Check out additional legislative updates below.

In addition to the full list of legislation in the report above, the IndyBar Legislative Committee is closely monitoring the progress of SJR16 for Litigation Section members. IndyBar leadership will continue to share information and updates regarding this specific piece of legislation.

Another week of session has passed and bills are making their way through the legislative process. Last week 33 bills passed third reading in the House and 32 bills passed third reading in the Senate. A few bills have already been exchanged between the two chambers, the most notable one being SB1 Civil Immunity Related to COVID-19, which is on second reading in the house and advancing quickly.

There are two weeks remaining until the third reading deadlines. As such, we expect to see a great deal of movement in committees and in session. As of this morning, there are 120 bills scheduled to be heard this week.

IndyBar members can request that the Legislative Committee track specific legislation by contacting committee chair Mindy Westrick at Click here to view the full Bill Watch reports.
