The United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana has proposed revisions to Local Rule 6-1 – Extensions of Time. The proposed amendments include:

  • specific deadlines that may be automatically extended by notice (without a proposed order) rather than by motion;
  • extending automatic initial extension rule to pro se parties by option;
  • eliminating requirement that a motion for extension of time be filed at least three business days prior to deadline.

Public comment period runs through October 20, 2020. The Notice is posted on the court's public website here.
