The IndyBar Law Student welcomed four practicing attorneys for Breakfast With the Bar on Friday, March 1, 2019 focusing on legalities of hosting major events in Indianapolis. Joining the McKinney students were Kyle Fairchild, Assistant Commissioner of the Horizon League; Eric Neuburger, Director of Lucas Oil Stadium; Jared Tidemann, Assistant General Counsel for the NCAA; and Tim Brown, General Counsel of the Indy Chamber.

Fairchild, Neuburger, Tidemann and Brown fielded many questions from the students in attendance.  Most of the time spent was on how each ended up at their current job, classes they took in law school, which benefit them in their current role and networking. All panelists discussed the need of having basic understanding of IP/trademark and contract law. Panelists also noted that many of them were able to transition their internships/externships during law school into a full-time job.

Riley Parr, a 3L evening student at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law had this to say about the session: “The breakfast provided an atmosphere conducive to both learning more about hosting major events in Indianapolis and professional networking.”
