Keep up with the committee: follow along with our "How I Spent My Summer" series to see how the Law Student Division Executive Committee members spent their summer!

I had the privilege to work as a law clerk at the Center for Victim and Human Rights (CVHR) here in Indianapolis this past summer.  I began working at the CVHR still reeling from a hectic 1L year, not knowing what to expect from my first professional legal experience. Fortunately, my time at the CVHR could not have been better. I grew personally and professionally by providing legal services to survivors of crime and human rights abuses alongside some excellent colleagues. I also took a summer class at IU McKinney, visited old friends back home in Columbia City, Indiana, and took a manly camping trip to the Great Smoky Mountains with my two brothers. I also adopted a cat, which is a decision I question every time he decides to knock seemingly every fragile object from the kitchen countertop, which is often. As I begin my 2L year, I’m excited to continue my work with the CVHR, and to engage in my responsibilities as the IndyBar Law Student Division’s new Event Coordinator.
