By Alex Van Gorp, 2L IU McKinney School of Law

On Thursday, September 11, 1Ls attended the first session of IndyBar's What You Need to Know series. Holly Wanzer of Wanzer Edwards PC returned this year to discuss her experiences from law school and impart some advice to the first-years.

Among the advice she gave were her most important "do and do nots" when preparing for class and creating outlines, such as: DO find the nugget from each case the teacher wants you to learn but DO NOT fill your outline with the extra fluff that addresses different issues. Wanzer also suggested creating mnemonic devices, like walking through your house, in order to remember lists.

The session was filled to the brim with tips, and overall, the students left feeling more confident about the rest of the semester to come.
