  1. Chair, Joel Tragesser opened meeting. IP Section has 141 members now; up from 138 in February ‘17
  2. Joel Tragesser gave report on IP/Business Law section Indy Fuel game. 35 tickets sold ($300 profit for IP section)
  3. Joel Tragesser discussed agenda for new additions to executive committee
    1. Nominees: Jordan Downham with Quarles & Brady LLP, Elizabeth Vincent with Kar Auction Services, Inc., Aaron Rodebeck with LOGICFORCE, Trenton Morton with Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, and Lindsay Rothrock with Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP
    2. Marcelo Copat to move off of board in ‘17
    3. Joel Tragesser moved to fill open spots, Marcelo Copat seconded. Motion passed. New members to be added at May ‘17 meeting.
  4. In regards to seminars, April 12, 2017:14 signed up; April 19, 2017: 9 for signed up. Ideally 20-25 members at each CLE
    1. Joel Tragesser working with Mack McDaniel of Business Law Section to do roundtable with corporate counsel (September ‘17)
    2. Kevin Erdman agreed to chair annual IP ethics seminar (2 hour extensive CLE)
    3. IndyBar wants IP committee to do advanced IP seminars
      1. Executive Committee to think of ideas for topics and to present
    4. Patent and Trademark office reached out to Bill McKenna and Joel Tragesser about doing seminar (Patent and Pro Bono program, to include 1 hour of ethics CLE)
      1. Joel Tragesser to look more into it and determine cost
    5. Trade Secret attorney Patrick Houston in San Diego volunteered to come speak on new Defend Trade Secrets Act
      1. Lesley to do further research on Patrick
  5. IndyBar forms project
    1. Checklist and/or tutorial as to forms; not just a form bank
      1. Check list for patent filings
      2. Concerns: proposing forms to give to people who do not practice in the specific area
      3. DMCA take downs, licensing forms
      4. As additional benefit to being bar association members, the form bank will be such additional benefit
      5. April 1, 2017 deadline for forms. Forward to Jordan Downham and Tyler Droste any forms that members have
  6. January-95 page views; 51 views in March. Blog page had 150 views in February, 62 views in March
    1. Matthew Clark is in charge of new postings to website and blog
    2. Videos from presenters following presentations to be placed on website
  7. Patent Law exam scholarship
    1. IndyBar to draft announcement to law students (limited to McKinney and Maurer students)
    2. Bill McKenna to spearhead
  8. New business?
  9. Holiday luncheon with Business law section; planning moving forward. Thanks Bill McKenna
