Next IndyBar IP Executive Committee Meetings: 

Monday, September 14, and Monday, November 9. The annual election of members and officers to take place during an ad hoc meeting in October or during the November meeting.

CLEs:     

General discussion of upcoming seminars on August 4 and year-end ethics CLE, which will take place on December 8 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. 

After a discussion regarding a CLE on Inter Partes Review procedures, Prof. Xuan-Thao Nguyen (IU McKinney Law School) said she planned a panel discussion on January 26, 2016, at McKinney Law School, either at noon or 5 p.m. Marcelo and Prof. Nguyen will discuss co-sponsoring opportunities and offering a networking session after the panel discussion.

Colloquia/Other Educational Opportunities:

Prof. Nguyen shared that she will be organizing colloquia this fall at McKinney Law School on Tuesdays at lunch.

Prof. Janis (IU Maurer Law School) shared that he will be organizing colloquia this fall at Maurer Law School on Thursdays after lunch.

Prof. Janis shared that in late August/September he will organize an event in Indianapolis co-hosted by the USPTO to discuss patent subject matter eligibility.

Communications/Web Site Postings:     

The IndyBar encourages each section committee to submit articles and other news for posting on the section's web page as a benefit to members. Derek Lavender has volunteered to lead this effort for the IP Section. 

Social Event:      

After a discussion regarding interest and location, Prof. Nguyen offered to host a social event at her home on the near north side, which would include a display of her fine art collection. Marcelo will discuss planning with Prof. Nguyen and Deneen.
