When a client comes to you with a new environmental issue, one of the first things you should ask about is insurance coverage. Your client’s insurance may provide a defense for your client and possibly indemnify your client should it be held liable. If insurance coverage is outside of your normal practice area you may be interested in the written materials from the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Section CLE titled Insurance 101: 10 Things Every Attorney Needs to Know About Insurance. These materials will help you become more familiar with the basics needed to spot basic coverage issues for your client.

The CLE was moderated by Matthew Neumann from Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP and featured a panel of Gregory Gotwald from Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, Nicholas Reuhs from Ice Miller LLP, Jeffrey Stemerick from Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, Andrea Warren from Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and Lewis Wooton from Lewis Wagner LLP.
