Submitted by the Indiana Secretary of State
When it comes to money, you want straight answers. There’s no room for half-truths or vague responses. The Office of the Indiana Secretary of State is sending out an SOS – an urgent appeal for help. We want honest professionals to join us for a day of community service. Volunteers with expertise in financial and legal matters will meet with folks in need of some facetime and hard facts.
What should be included in a will? How can I tackle debt while saving for retirement? How can I help my child pay for college? Am I at risk for financial exploitation?
The people of Indiana have a lot of questions. As an expert in your field, we’re asking you to provide the answers. At our second annual Straight Answer Saturday event, you will meet one-on-one with attendees to provide FREE assistance. Think of it as a sampling of the services you already offer. We don’t expect you to fix every problem, but your guidance can help folks get their lives back on track. Financial planners can discuss finances, budgeting, saving, and investing. Attorneys can provide insight into estate planning, wills, power of attorney documents, and advance healthcare directives. CPAs can review tax documents and offer filing suggestions. This is a small sampling of the larger service we’re confident you will provide to the Hoosiers who attend Straight Answer Saturday.
We’re offering this program as a service to the community. We can’t succeed without your help. Please offer your time and expertise.
To get involved, email Kelly Griese at email@example.com. Provide your name, organization/company, your field of expertise, and the hours you are available to volunteer. If you are interested in providing financial sponsorship of this event or would like a table in our vendor area, communicate that interest in your email.
