Indiana State Museum Opens New Exhibit Examining Opioid Crisis

By Hon. Jennifer Harrison, Marion Superior Court

As a judge who presides over a drug court, I see first-hand daily the effects of the opioid epidemic on our community. I am always eager to attend trainings and hear more about how we as a community can help our neighbors in fighting this disease. I am so excited about the new exhibit at the Indiana State Museum called “FIX: Heartbreak and Hope Inside Our Opioid Crisis.” This exhibit provides our community with an opportunity to dive into the science behind the opioid epidemic as well as viewing personal stories of Hoosiers who have been affected by this. I encourage everyone to attend so we can work together to end this epidemic. As Governor Holcomb stated, “Substance abuse impacts our family, friends and neighbors. That’s why continuing to help more people enter recovery will always remain a top priority. The more we know about the ways it affects people, the better equipped we’ll be to avoid dependence or support someone you love."
