What do I do if I've been in an accident? How do I get a will? What steps do I take if I want to change a child custody arrangement?

Whether you have a specific problem or are just looking for an quick answer to a hypothetical question, help is just a call away when the Indianapolis Bar Association hosts Legal Line on Tuesday, September 13.  Anyone seeking advice can simply call 317-269-2000 from 6 to 8 p.m. and speak to an attorney at no fee and with no further obligation.

Lawyers answering Legal Line calls work in law firms, agencies and organizations throughout the city and donate their time in order to provide this valuable community service. They'll be prepared to provide assistance with questions on topics like divorce, child custody, child support, landlord/tenant issues, bankruptcy, personal injury, employment law and more.  All calls are confidential.

Following this month's program, the next Legal Line will be offered on Tuesday, October 11 in conjunction with the bar's semi-annual Ask a Lawyer program. On that day, face-to-face legal advice will also be available from 2 to 6 p.m. at locations across Indianapolis, including ten Indianapolis Public Library branches, in addition to the call-in service.

Individuals seeking representation by a lawyer are encouraged to contact the IndyBar’s Lawyer Referral Service at (317) 269-2222, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or go online to www.indylawyerfinder.com.

This community service is sponsored by the Indianapolis Bar Association, a 136-year-old organization of Indianapolis area attorneys, judges, paralegals and law students, and is made possible through the generosity of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the association.
