2010 IBF Scholarship Recipients Announced - IndyBar News

Each year, the Indianapolis Bar Foundation presents academic and education scholarships to deserving law students, fulfilling one of its main missions -- to advance an understanding of the law through education. Students must be members of the Indianapolis Bar Association to qualify for the scholarships.

The 2010 IBF Scholarship Recipients are as follows:

Neil E. Shook Scholarship: This scholarship is available to second year Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis law students who exhibit the following characteristics: 1. academic proficiency; 2. interest in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law; 3. financial need; 4. exceptional leadership skills; 5. demonstrated commitment to excellence; 6. proponent of civility in the legal profession.

2010 Recipient: Amanda K. Dalton

The Honorable William E. Steckler Scholarship: This scholarship is available to second or third year law students who exhibit the following: 1. academic excellence; 2. financial need; 3. orientation toward public service.

2010 Recipient: Sara M. Benson

Rosalie F. Felton Scholarship: This scholarship is available to second or third year law students who demonstrate the following traits: 1. dedication to the practice of law; 2. active involvement in community service; 3. academic excellence

2010 Recipient: James R. Smerbeck

Bar Review Scholarships: Shannon White was the recipient of a IndyBar Review scholarship.
