The Indianapolis Bar Association’s Nominating Committee has announced the selection of Thomas A. Barnard of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP as the 2019 President of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Barnard will serve as the association’s First Vice President on the 2017 Board of Directors and as President Elect in 2018.
Barnard currently serves on the IndyBar Board of Directors as treasurer and has also held the At Large Director position for two terms as well as committee involvement on the Membership Committee. He attended Purdue University for his undergraduate degree and received his J.D. from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law.
David J. Duncan, Scannell Properties, was selected to finish out the final year of Barnard’s two-year term as Treasurer. Duncan is a current Vice President on the Board of Directors and also served as Indianapolis Bar Foundation President in 2014.
The Hon. Alicia Gooden, Marion Superior Court, will serve a two-year term as Secretary of the Board of Directors. Judge Gooden is a past Board of Directors member and also served as chair of the Family Law Section.
Five At Large Directors were also selected. Chosen to serve through 2018 were Andrew L. Campbell, Faegre Baker Daniels LLP; Deborah J. Caruso, Rubin & Levin PC; Pamela G. Grant-Taylor, Law Office of Pamela Grant Taylor; Manuel Herceg, Lewis Kappes PC; and Commissioner James K. Snyder, Marion Superior Court.
Phil Isenbarger, Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, was chosen to represent the IndyBar as its American Bar Association Delegate.
As determined by previous nomination, the 2017 Board of Directors will be led by Nissa Ricafort of Broyles Kight & Ricafort. James J. Bell, Paganelli Law Group, will be President Elect.
The 2017 Board of Directors will be formally installed at the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation Installation Luncheon, to be held in early January 2017.
