The IndyBar Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the third annual Mediation Day will be held on September 21, 2012 at Faegre Baker Daniels, located at 300 N. Meridian St., Ste. 2700, Indianapolis, Indiana  46204.  The purpose of this Mediation Day is to provide a service to the courts and community by volunteering time to mediate several screened cases for litigants who qualify for modest means mediation.  Faegre Baker Daniels has once again generously volunteered its downtown office to provide ample conference facilities for this joint endeavor.

To make this event a success, the committee is looking for ten volunteer mediators.  Commissioner Lynch in Paternity Court has been screening non-domestic violence cases, and ten cases will be available to mediate on September 21st.  Each volunteer mediator would agree to mediate one case starting at either 8 a.m. or 1 p.m.  Volunteers can feel free to bring a laptop to assist with drafting agreements, and lunch will be provided.  There will also be a judicial officer on site to approve the mediated agreements.

This volunteer opportunity is open to all IndyBar members, though ADR section members will be given preference. All volunteers must be registered mediators.

Make plans to set aside September 21st to volunteer for this fun and exciting project!  If you wish to volunteer, please email Phyllis Armstrong at with a desired start time (8 a.m. or 1 p.m.).
