What is your educational background?
I studied rhetoric at Indiana University for my undergraduate studies, and I received my J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law with a concentration in advocacy skills.
Why did you become involved with the IndyBar E-Discovery, Information Governance & Cybersecurity Section Executive Committee?
I enjoy presenting on current issues in cybersecurity law, and joining the executive committee was a great way to help keep the legal community informed on a topic that affects us all as keepers of our clients’ data.
In what other ways are you involved with the legal community?
I also serve as an advisory member of the Indiana Governor’s Executive Council on Cybersecurity. Specifically, I am a member of the Legal and Insurance Working Group of the council, which assists Indiana residents, businesses and governments by providing resources on data security compliance, threat assessment and risk mitigation.
What are you looking forward to in 2019 with the E-Discovery, Information Governance & Cybersecurity Section?
There are a number of exciting events on the docket for 2019! First, I am not one to miss an opportunity to network, and the section is hosting a Networking Happy Hour at Metazoa Brewery on September 19. The section is also hosting an informative CLE on August 22 on “Connecting Information Governance and E-Discovery.” Of course, the main event for our section this year is E-Discovery Day which will take place on December 13 at Barnes & Thornburg LLP. We are planning a very exciting lineup of speakers and panelists.
Finally, we are planning a useful tool for IndyBar members to reference in navigating the ever-widening field of e-discovery vendors. More details to come!
