Recently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) announced a new voluntary program, Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Advanced (“BPCI Advanced”) which expands on the previous BPCI program to pay participating providers a bundled payment based on performance for 32 types of clinical episodes. This program will qualify as an Advanced Alternative Payment Model under CMS’s Quality Payment Program.  The BPCI Advanced model will begin on October 1, 2018.
