Health Care and Life Sciences News

By Andrew Owen, Office of the Indiana Attorney General

I was very grateful to the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Division for choosing me as the recipient of their annual AHLA Fundamentals of Health Law scholarship. It was an intellectually rewarding experience and I was honored that the IndyBar gave me the opportunity to build upon my Health Law background.

The AHLA Fundamentals of Health Law Conference was an all-encompassing, intellectually rich experience that I believe all young attorney’s that are serious about health law should attend. Though not all subject areas covered directly related to my current job, the totality of the presentations gave a complete look at the state of Health Law in this country and the many different areas of compliance, regulations, and general operations that effect the government, providers, and patients. It was also a great opportunity to meet other professionals in health law and to discuss the changes coming, or potentially coming, to the field.

I would highly recommend that anyone that is serious about pursing or furthering their career in health law attend the AHLA Fundamentals of Health Law Conference. I am thankful to the Indianapolis bar Association’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Division for choosing me and giving me this great opportunity.
